About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Medical Assistant to support our physician and clinical team in a busy orthopedic practice. In this role you are the engine that keeps the clinic moving. You will room patients, prepare them for the provider, assist the doctor during exams and procedures, and make sure every patient feels cared for from start to finish.

What You Will Do

Rooming and patient preparation: You will bring patients back, take and record vital signs, document the chief complaint and relevant history, review medications, and prepare the patient and the room so the provider can step in ready to go. You will keep the rooms turning over efficiently throughout the day, loading and unloading rooms to keep patient flow smooth.

Assisting the physician: You will work right alongside the doctor during exams and procedures, anticipate needs, hand off instruments and supplies, and assist with in office orthopedic procedures and treatments.

Orthopedic clinical skills: You will assist with or perform casting, splinting, and brace application and removal, suture and staple removal, dressing changes and wound care, and setup and assistance for joint and cortisone injections within your scope.

Imaging coordination: You will prepare patients for imaging, coordinate with the imaging or x ray team, and make sure the right studies are ready and available for the provider.

Documentation and EHR: You will document accurately and in real time in eClinicalWorks (eCW), update charts, enter orders as directed, and keep patient records clean and current.

Room and supply management: You will stock and prepare exam and procedure rooms, sterilize and set up instruments, monitor supply levels, and keep all clinical areas clean, organized, and ready.

Patient care and communication: You will explain instructions clearly, answer patient questions with warmth, provide post visit and post procedure education, and help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Prior clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, orthopedic experience is a strong plus
  • Hands on experience with casting, splinting, and orthopedic procedures is highly preferred
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is highly preferred
  • Current BLS or CPR certification
  • Solid knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • A team first attitude and a genuine love for patient care
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a calm, positive presence
